Did you know that 65% of the constants in Biggest Loser History Gain the Majority of their weight back after the Finale.
NBC has even gone as far as to contractually obligate contestants to maintain their weight loss for marketing purposes to keep the show credible.
Why does this happen?
One of the biggest issues with extreme weight loss is how difficult it is to maintain that weight loss once things calm down.
The Biggest Loser Ranch in Calabasas is a weight loss client's dream... but it could be a curse in disguise.
They give you everything you need to get the results. Come here, leave your stresses behind. We will give you shelter, all the food and water you need, unlimited medical supervision, "trainers", and a gym that you have access to 24hr/day, 7 days/week.
Pretty Awesome, Huh?
They do the same thing for professional athlete's in training for the season. It's called "Training Camp."
But what happens to athletes in the off season? They relax, recover and they get out of shape. They stop playing regularly and most of the stop training as well. Very few of them stop eating like they did when they were playing and training.
The biggest issues at the Biggest Loser Ranch is that they don't do a good enough job TEACHING their contestants how to survive in the REAL WORLD once the show is over.
In a ranch house is a controlled environment. There are no Twinkies, Fried Chicken and Ding-Dongs. There is an army of people keeping those contestants from leaving to go to the nearest 7-11 to find those fixes.
When the show is over, no one is there to keep them accountable. The results are not permanent. They have to use threats like a contract saying, "We will sue you if you get fat again." to motivate these folks to stay thin.
That's absurd.
One of the biggest things we do at CrossFit Pasadena is teach people how to eat well in the real world, because this is the real world. We only have you for 1 hour a day and that leaves a lot of opportunities for you to make the wrong/right choices with your fuel.
We show you how to eat to get the results you want. We even go as far as to provide grocery lists, recipes and meal plans for our members.
This is because we don't see training as an extreme tactic to make quick changes. We see training as a lifestyle, and a very important one at that.
We are in it for the long haul. We are invested in helping you lose weight, get fit and continually see you getting better for the remainder of your lives.
Real Results... Permanent Results.
The South Pasadena High School Wrestling Team is getting STRONG!
Training:
AMRAP in 15 min:
4 Deadlifts (140/100)
12 Kettlebell Snatches (24/16)
16 Burpees
Supplemental Training:
5 sets:
A: 3 Weighted Goodmornings (Wide Stance)
B: 3 Bent Over Row
*Use the same weight for both exercises. Effort is on concentration and skill.

Results : 3 rounds and 2 reps with 150kg on the deads instead of 140. I can't believe we damn near unracked all of the weight at the gym. HAHA!! that was awesome.
I think if we ever do this again can we switch the place of the burpees with the snatches or something. going into a violent hip thrusting movement after a huge shock to the nervous system like a 60 percent of your pr for reps deads was pretty nasty, I felt like if I go down for one burpee I'm staying down. So hard to stop my heart from wanting to burst out of my chest.
