"Keep your eyes on the prize."
This is one the most commonly used motivational phrases ever said.
With the amount of material we ask you learn and the number of movements you become dedicated to master, it is very easy to make the end seem so far away.
The trick to getting there is realizing that what you do today will make you who you want to be in the future. This works in all realms of life, but lets keep it related to your training.
Wanna Squat 3x's your body weight? Well, thats gonna take a while, but thats okay. The Air Squats you learned the other day are the gateway to achieving that goal.
Everyone at our gym knows how to Air Squat, but how often do they practice perfecting their air squat?
Not often enough.
Practicing the basics should be part of your everyday skill routine. I'm not talking about doing tabata squats on an off day. I'm talking about practicing the "perfect squat."
Here's the thing, the coaches at CrossFit Pasadena have one rule when it comes to how our athletes move,
"It's either perfect, or its not."
Taking today to make progress on your technique insures your future movement goals will be reached.
Eating the right foods today gives you the body composition and the performance you want in future training sessions or tests.
Master today so that tomorrow can be.
