Everyone has a (hopefully short) list of things we do at the gym that you are not fond of, but what we are talking about is that one single movement we use in our training that makes you wanna call in sick.
My Personal Kryptonite is Burpees. They completely destroy me when they are part of my workout. I grunt and groan and grimace whenever I have them in a workout and before the start of the workout there is always a split second when I consider quiting before we even start. F*#@ Burpees!
Here's the thing about that exercise I hate so much...
I do them a lot.
Back in the day when I trained at Valley CrossFit with the best in the world, they did the 100 days of Burpees challenge. Each day you are in the challenge you add a burpee to the total you do: Day 1 = 1 Burpee. Day 2 = 2 Burpees. Day 96 = 96 Burpees and yes, Day 100 = 100 Burpees. That Challenge sucked! I thought that by the end I would be 5,500 Reps better at Burpees, but In Fact, I hated them 5,500 times more than I did before. That said, I finished it and was one of the few that never missed a day.
The reason I hate Burpees so much is because they work so well. They make me sweat, they make me breathe heavy and my entire body feels it when I do them.
The logic in me says that any movement that works so well on me needs to be a staple of my training program. Just the other day I ran up to the top of a trail, did 50 burpees and then ran down. IT WAS HORRIBLE.
You have to embrace those exercises you hate the most.
The Inflexible Guys at the Gym Hate Overhead Squats.
The Smaller ladies at the gym Dispise Wall Balls.
The Big Guys don't like to Run.
There is always something we do here that gives you that nervous sweat.
Take a moment to think about this. What can you do to embrace that movement you hate so passionately?
I can't tell you the answer, but what I can say is that the right answer to that question will make you a fitter, better mover.

20:05 on the wod, I really need to roll my ball into my hip flexors, those squats hurt at the bottom, cleans felt like I was lifting marshmellows. go figure =/

Hate=TGU, bear crawls, spidermans and any of that crawling stuff
Running has disappeared from this list for some reason...perhaps I've come to terms with how much it sucks. Burpees are the same way.

I like to run and do turkish get ups. Other than that, everything else can suck it :p

I think overhead squats and turkish get ups are the only exercises that fall in to the "hate" category for me. Also, currently not a big fan of the "burpee - flight simulator" - Thanks Will

Wayne that gave me a good laugh. I have to admit I hate running which will come as a shock to most.

if it's not on this list I hate it.
power cleans(normal,hanging)
cleans
clean n jerks
behind the neck jerks
deadlifts
halting deadlifts
push press
push jerk
snatch, power snatch, hang snatch
squats, front squats
overhead squats
your imagination is open to interpretation of what "if it's not on this list" means.
That said, I hate running so much I signed up to do a 10k, and will start running 5k's again, I've also started hiking although doing anything else besides going up and down the mountain can go suck it, I think 45-90minutes of non stop quad rape is good enough.
I hate burpee's so damn much that I tried to do them as fast as humanly possible one day and sprained my wrist for 3 weeks, I've learned that in mother russia you don't do burpees, burpee's do you.
Rowing, can go suck it. I'm short no damn way I'll ever have a 6-7 minute 2k
If I could get a wall ball that didn't get slippery after 30 reps I'd have no beef with them, until then I will continue to catch them with my face. =(
Either way, come in train hard, get your ass kicked and add more things to the stuff you like list rather than worrying about the "I think it's a rest day" list...
*minus mondays workout this week, I will be a hypocrite for the sake of missing that wod.
