Q: Is CrossFit for Me?

It helps these professionals have high levels of General Physical Preparedness (GPP) that, in some cases, saves lives. These are all very good things, but what about those of you who are not athletes by profession, but just by hobby? What about those of you who just enjoy the challenge of being active when you can? CrossFit is for EVERYONE! Our program is designed for universal scalability. That makes it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience or level. The same movements we use to train a cage fighter the week before a pay-per-view fight are the same movements that we use to train our elderly clients with degenerative bone issues. We scale the load and intensity to fit the person. We don’t change the program. Our fitness program is designed to be broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Life’s challenges favor those who are comparable in a broad range of abilities and punish those who specialize. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree and not kind. The same movements we teach to help Grandma lift her grandchild off the ground also help an Olympian Clean & Jerk 200 kilograms. Our Special Forces, firefighters, surfers, bike riders, computer programmers, mechanics and housewives have all found their best fitness from the same regimen.

A: The coaches we have on staff have been very lucky to have past and current experiences with clients that vary in size, shape, age, strength, and ethnicity. These experiences have allowed us to work with athletes from a wide spectrum of diverse sports such as football, basketball, soccer, rugby, off-road biking, racing (cars, bikes, & foot), iron man, decathlon, nationally ranked swimmers, as well as a wide spectrum of diverse backgrounds including corporate executives, small business owners, teachers, students, stay-at-home moms and dads, children and elderly, people with conditions from Diabetes – M.S, covering all walks of life. This experience has given the staff at CrossFit Pasadena a true appreciation for the subtle differences that each person requires and that we are able to successfully provide.
Q: What are the costs involved with getting started at CrossFit Pasadena?
A: Our prices vary, and we have discounts for students and Military/Law Enforcement/Firefighter. We encourage you to come in and see what we have to offer before making a judgment call based on price alone. We are of the belief that you get what you pay for. You can go to your local gym and hire a personal trainer to chat with you while you walk on a treadmill, or you can come here and change your life. It's up to you.
Q: What are some of the challenges I will see while training at CrossFit Pasadena?
A: Our clients often comment on how great they are feeling, how much energy they have, and how they need to buy new wardrobes. If you follow our program and nutritional recommendations, excellent results are inevitable. As surely as eating junk food and remaining sedentary will add fat to your body, coming here, working out and eating well will build muscle and decrease body fat.
