Welcome to CrossFit Pasadena!
CrossFit Pasadena is a 3,000 sq/ft. elite fitness coaching facility located in the heart of Old Town Pasadena. We offer group and individual coaching, utilizing the CrossFit methodology. CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements (like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running and jumping) executed at high intensity.
The above is just a nice and neat way of explaining what we do at CrossFit Pasadena, but often leaves people scratching their heads.
At CrossFit Pasadena you will not find rows of stationary bikes and weight machines. What you will find when walking in our doors are pull-up bars, rows of kettlebells, barbells, bumper plates, medicine balls, and lots of wide open space for squatting, jumping, climbing, running, lifting and throwing. All these things will challenge you to move your body the way it was meant to move in nature. It means that all your workouts will be comprised of exercises that mimic movements performed in day-to-day life or sport. You would never bicep curl your child to pick them up, so why would you do it in the gym? We focus on improving functional movements that are necessary and common in your daily activities.
This also means that you will never find a dull day at CrossFit Pasadena. “Boredom” is not a word in our vocabulary. With our constantly varied programming you will rarely do the same workout twice in any given year. You will never have to program your own workouts or spend hours in the gym. (Though we encourage you to share workout ideas and you can hang out as long as our doors are open!) Instead, each day a workout will be provided for you, presented in scalable variations to suit your fitness level. Our workouts are rarely longer than 40 minutes, fitting into even the busiest of schedules.
Our fitness programming is designed with focus on improving your capacity in ten recognized fitness domains:
Cardio-Respiratory Endurance - The ability of body systems to gather, process, and deliver oxygen.
Stamina - The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy.
Strength - The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.
Flexibility - The ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.
Power - The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.
Speed - The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.
Coordination - The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.
Agility - The ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another.
Balance - The ability to control the placement of the body's center of gravity in relation to its support base.
Accuracy - The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.
The result is comprehensive physical fitness and restored vitality.
We love what we do here at CrossFit Pasadena and it shows with every smiling face that walks through our doors.
